Welcome to Bujinkan Ohoko Colorado Springs

Bujinkan Ohoko Dojo, Colorado Springs, is a martial arts dojo that teaches the RyuHa (collection of schools as taught by Soke (Head) Maasaki Hatsumi.

The bujinkan is a collection of 9 different Ryu (schools) varying in degree. Each school has specific teaching styles that ranged from empty handed fighting to the use of the six foot staff (bo-jutsu). All of the schools taught in the Bujinkan reflect the deep, spiritual quest of Budo (the martial way) and are a reflection of the pure heart and patient soul.

Westernized Traditional Martial Arts have lost some of the sight neccessary for a complete Budo. They tend to have very focused approaches to fighting or defending leaving them myopic to shinkengata and more importantly: spiritual living. Hatsumi Sensei reminds us everyday of the gokui (essense) of Budo, yet we are also required to think of it only as a piece of the true meaning. What is important is being an honest person and to follow the preceipes of Mikkyo, Buddhism, Christianity, chilvary, or any concept in view of the Golden Rule. Values, which, make us more than barbarians capable of clubbing our enemies. We take up the sword not to strike down dogs, but to strike down equals almost as if striking down ourselves.
